Biden to create new federal office for gun violence prevention: reports

White House Staff Secretary Stefanie Feldman, a longtime Biden aide with expertise on firearms issues,

I bet Stephanie has never held a gun.

“Unfortunately, gun deaths and injuries continue to ravage our country, impacting Asian American, Black and Brown communities, and neighborhoods all across the country,”

Not white people. Who’s perpetratin’?

The creation of a new office of gun violence prevention serves the dual purpose of contrasting the president’s agenda with the Republican-controlled House and pleasing a key constituency group as Biden ramps up his 2024 re-election campaign.

There we go…

Thanks Bush!

Benitez wrote that one “government solution to a few mad men with guns … makes into criminals responsible, law-abiding people wanting larger magazines simply to protect themselves.”

Right on! :fist:t5:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a statement called the decision “politics, pure and simple,” noting Benitez’s record for rolling back gun control legislation.

Sweet, sweet hypocrisy

California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a notice of appeal, vowing to “fight for our authority to keep Californians safe from weapon enhancements designed to cause mass casualties.”

This is the goal, ‘gun owner = criminal’.

The solution to the “gun violence” problem is simple and they know it.

Prohibited person in possession, five years.
Commit a felony while in possession, five years.

Mandatory, no pleas, no good time.

Prohibited person in possession of one round of ammo can get 10 years.

And of course marked for life.

harris what the hell

When I listened to her remarks it astounded me that she claimed that the right to freedom from violence, freedom from trauma, and freedom from fear, existed. I didn’t know that I had a right to live free from the existence of the violent actions of others. Much like the right to pursue happiness, one has the right to pursue living in a safe environment, but there is no guarantee, let alone right, to achieve it. It is just another utopia fantasy.

Her opinion scares me. How would she reconcile that?

As I said, it is an unachievable utopian goal. It can’t be reconciled with reality, but using it as a basis for action, one could seek to justify any level of control over the actions of the citizenry in trying to chase this pot of gold.

Mmmmm. This makes no sense to me. Unless I am trying to harm gun manufacturers

His stance never seemed to be rooted in what was logical, just based on what happens, whether or not it was logical. So if he got his way, he would do the same with the next gun up.

Similar to speed limits. Raise the limit from 55 to 65 and when the first accident happens, drop it back to 55. Assuming it was the increase that caused the problem.

Or build an argument for if we don’t export them, why do we sell them domestically.
