legit. But what about our attitude toward their increasing influence in Afghanistan.?
That’s how I’d counteract it. Iran has an internal weakness that is maturing. Their young people are aware of the outside world and would IMO prefer the new developments in technology, than the ways of old that the current regime is forcing upon them.
COVID maybe improving these chances too…
The biggest issue with Iran is after the revolution in the 70’s, they created a government married to a religion. That is always a recipe for oppression of some kind.
This is mostly due to religions being interpreted differently and manipulated by those in power. It is true, younger Iranians are more secular…but probably not enough to change the government’s ties to religion. Until that happens, very little will change.
