If they don’t know this is exactly how Ukraine are fighting the Russians and winning then something is not getting through and there is a gap in using technology that needs to be filled which doesn’t require soldiers to put their lives at risk at all. Nevermind how they look or what they weight.

Yeah go back to basics while technology moves on. The adults said so.

Why on earth would a soldier be needed when a drone can do the same job.

No Europe/Ukraine have moved on to computer warfare to avoid using troops at all.

But Trump expected applause. I also suspect that Hegseth was expecting some sort of positive reaction when he finished talking. Thats just my thought from watching how he paused and seemed to be waiting for something to happen.
But my question is the US military really facing an epidemic of overweight out of shape soliders?
My other question has any army ever expected its senior staff that obviously getting on in age to be just as fit and capable as the youngest soldiers? Do they need to be? Of course I see why you would not someone like me at 54 serving (all the weight i lost i sadly put back on 
) but there is nothing wrong with them and everyone in the military passing the basic fitness test each year.
Finally not once in all my years on this forum has anyone on the right ever said that the name Department of Defense was somehow inhibiting the effectiveness of the military or Americas enemies no longer feared the US militart because of the name. Nor even after 9-11 did anyone say the name of Dept of Defense was a contributing factor. That name change is purely performative.

Ukraine is not winning. A few days ago, the Russians launched a bunch of stuff. Killed 4 people.

Because for one thing you can only hold and police territory with infantry. No one else can do that job. Everything else is support. Tanks, aircraft, drones. Everything is there to support the basic job of the infantryman.
