Has Tucker Carlson ever read our Constitution? Maybe not!

My question was: What form of government does our Constitution guarantee? A Republican Form of Government, or a democracy?

From our Constitution, Article 4, Section 4:

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government

Our “form” of government is a “Republican Form of Government”.

And the United States may properly be described as a constitutionally limited “representative republic”.

JWK

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

I wonder why some in the thread have such a problem with answering the following question:

What form of government does our Constitution guarantee?

I also wonder why Tucker Carlson and some other Fox News Channel personalities continue to say “our democracy” when identifying our form of government. Do they even understand the important distinction between our constitutionally limited “Republican Form of Government” and a “democracy” which is mob rule government?

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

• From bondage to spiritual faith;
• From spiritual faith to great courage;
• From courage to liberty;
• From liberty to abundance;
• From abundance to selfishness;
• From selfishness to complacency;
• From complacency to apathy;
• From apathy to dependence;
• From dependence back into bondage.

Tucker really slammed him. Hashtagmetoo.

:moneybag:

The term “democracy” is so commonly used that many people do not understand the term “republican democracy.” I think Tucker uses “democracy” to speak in simple terms that 100% of his audience can relate to.

I have no idea what is in Tucker’s mind when he says “our democracy” when it’s just as easy to say our “Constitutional Republic”, as Sean Hannity does. I wonder if Tucker, when saying our pledge of allegiance, says “…and to the democracy” for which our flag stands.

I do know there is a vast difference between our constitutionally limited “Republican Form of Government”, and that of a “democracy” which Tucker lover to use ___ the latter system being best described as mob rule government ___ a system in which 51 percent of the nation’s population can vote to confiscate the property of the remaining portion of the population.

John Adams was absolutely correct when he pointed out that "democracy will envy all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all; and when by chance it happens to get the upper hand for a short time, it will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel…". Witness today the suicidal path our democrat socialists have chosen to take, supported by a Fifth Colum media and Yellow Journalists.

I figure that’s was his intent…but it doesn’t doesn’t do anything to educate the population.

Words are suppose to have meaning…at less that what’s libs keep telling me. :wink:

Oh BTW…welcome to forum.

I’m beginning to think Tucker Carlson actually supports “democracy” in its classical sense, in that a majority of what the people want, they should get, i.e., mob rule government!

Let us listen to Tucker Carlson’s VERY OWN WORDS

“I want a democracy where the majority of voters get to decide what their country does.”

This is the classic definition of a “democracy” as distinguished from our constitutionally limited “Republican Form of Government” in which our elected representatives, restrained by a written Constitution, set public policy.
