That’s why the community at large is asking about if she was a pure diversity hire or not.

Think about the allure of the critically conscious board. Their chance to hire the first black woman of such a prestigious university as president… if my entire worldview was centered around that worldview then even I would tempted to ignore a few things for the chance to say I had something to do with it.

What evidence is there that Harvard knew about these allegation’s?

It’s their job to know when hiring for the most prestigious job at the University, don’t you think? If they didn’t, they (who ever had that responsibility) should resign as well.

But sometimes no. Restating the obvious statement of fact sometimes results in strained language of character for the piece.

Again, we lack context here, but it is totally OK to read something like a statement of fact, and simply write that into your work. That is not plagiarism.
