No link. Just a gut feeling of mine because the US government never found a problem it couldn’t just toss money at and act like that fixed it.
It’s part of why LATAM is so jacked up in the first place. Historically we threw money at some very questionable people because they proudly proclaimed “I don’t like the Soviets” or “I don’t like Red China.” There we go, millions of dollars in military aid for you and enough M16s to arm the entire US Army. Take some of these downgraded F-16s and some second hand F-4s while you’re at it. In case we need you to bomb communists in the jungle.
Well ,I do not use gut feelings to make a point…it is possible the US will help fund the processes/logistics…but until that happens…it is just guessing.

Those things were going on way before Reagan. Start with Truman. And before that we were doing questionable things for fruit contracts under Hoover and Roosevelt.

There is a program immigrants are utilizing, and must follow the process. Were you now aware of that?
Just the gross misuse of the following that is supposed to be a remedy for extreme cases. It trusts an administration will weigh cases and avoid harm in individual cases. It mistakenly trusts the executive department.
