It’s part of why LATAM is so jacked up in the first place. Historically we threw money at some very questionable people because they proudly proclaimed “I don’t like the Soviets” or “I don’t like Red China.” There we go, millions of dollars in military aid for you and enough M16s to arm the entire US Army. Take some of these downgraded F-16s and some second hand F-4s while you’re at it. In case we need you to bomb communists in the jungle.

Well ,I do not use gut feelings to make a point…it is possible the US will help fund the processes/logistics…but until that happens…it is just guessing.

I am critical of things that happen, not what I feel might happen.

And yes, Reagan screwed up royally in Central America…even broke the law to do it…

Those things were going on way before Reagan. Start with Truman. And before that we were doing questionable things for fruit contracts under Hoover and Roosevelt.

But I get it. Fight those dirty commies and all that jazz was that generations version of “fight them Hadjis” that my generation was obsessed with for a long time.

Seems like the Gen Z and Alpha crowd are wanting to go fight Russians or something. And my son’s generation will probably want to kill Chinamen by the time he’s an adult in 20 years.

Just the gross misuse of the following that is supposed to be a remedy for extreme cases. It trusts an administration will weigh cases and avoid harm in individual cases. It mistakenly trusts the executive department.
