You are right and this Dan Crenshaw story just reinforces it.

How many times during Trumps administration did Trump bring someone into his administration with cheers and applause from his base. Then when Trump decided that person was not loyal enough or enough of a yes man suddenly that same base would jeer and call the previously applauded person a RINO or talk about how they always knew that person was part of the deep state.

I have no problem with Trump or any President hiring and firing anyone. Thats their prerogative but its the supporters that fascinate me with their ability to turn on anyone so quickly that did not toe the Trump line.

It really is the epitome of the cult of personality. We saw this really emerge with Obama but Trump took this to a new level.

Thankfully Biden is too bland and boring to elicit that sort of blind following that both Trump and Obama had.
