For those considering a costume to celebrate this year’s Halloween festivities, CNN posted an official “flowchart” on social media to find out if one’s outfit is considered culturally inappropriate.

“Should I wear that costume for Halloween? Consult this flowchart,” writes CNN. “It’s a minefield out there. Before you step out in a sexy version of an otherwise normal thing, consult this handy chart.”

According to the flowchart -initially published just before the 2016 presidential election- individuals should ask themselves if their outfit “capitalizes on a tragedy or crisis” or “if it features negative depictions” of people or animals.
