Failing presidential hopeful Cory Booker managed to meet his last-minute fundraising deadline over the weekend; vowing to continue his quest to take-on President Trump in the 2020 race for the White House.

“Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-N.J.) White House campaign said that it met its goal of raising $1.7 million dollars a Monday deadline and announced the senator will continue his bid for the presidency,” reports The Hill.

“When we made the decision to be completely honest with folks about where we stood and what we needed to raise to put this campaign on a path to be successful, we didn’t know how people would respond,” Booker said in a statement.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by the response, and I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who pitched in. This moment is a testimony to the power of what’s possible when people unite in common purpose and work toward a shared goal,” he added.

An internal memo from Cory Booker’s failing presidential campaign revealed the Senator’s pursuit of the nomination has just ’10 days left’ to raise more than $1.7 million.

Sen. Cory Booker’s presidential campaign manager is warning in a memo to staff that the Democratic senator from New Jersey must raise an additional $1.7 million by the end of the third quarter of fundraising – just 10 days away – or the campaign will not have a ‘legitimate long-term path forward,’” reports Fox News.

“The existence of the memo was first reported Saturday morning by NBC News, with Fox News confirming the news with multiple sources,” adds Fox.

“We’re at a crossroads in this campaign. We need to raise $1.7 million by September 30 to be in a position to build the organization we need to compete for the nomination—and we can do it—but if we don’t, we don’t see a legitimate long-term path forward,” posted Booker on social media Saturday morning.

“This isn’t an end-of-quarter stunt. This is a real, unvarnished look under the hood of our campaign at a level of transparency unprecedented in presidential politics,” he added.
