Regarding your assertion; There are some federal programs that serve those in need, regardless of immigration status. Programs that serve undocumented immigrants include school meal programs, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Head Start, and various in-kind emergency services. Undocumented immigrants are also eligible for Emergency Medicaid. This program typically covers acute medical situations including childbirth but not longer-term treatment for chronic conditions, even if they are life-threatening. The services provided vary by state. Emergency Medicaid is estimated to cost about $2 billion per year, well less than 1 percent of the overall Medicaid budget, and most of that cost is thought to be attributable to unauthorized immigrants.
·State and local governments disproportionately bear the burden of supporting undocumented immigrants. Undocumented immigrants are legally required to have access to K-12 public school, and almost all K-12 education funding comes from state and local governments. The share of children who are undocumented immigrants and attend Kindergarten through 12th grade at public and private schools is relatively small, making up about 1.3 percent of total enrollment in 2014 (about 725,000 students) according to a study by the Pew Research Center. However, another 5.9 percent of students who are U.S. citizens have at least one undocumented parent. Some states also provide other benefits to undocumented immigrants, including in-state tuition to undocumented students and state-funded safety net programs. Authors of a National Academy of Sciences report note that, because immigrants tend to pay income and payroll taxes to the federal government, but tend to use services provided by states and localities, their overall fiscal impact is unevenly distributed. Um, yeah. Google something along the lines of “billing unwed fathers for the cost of Medicaid”, and there should be a variety of articles, considering I’m having trouble posting links.

One is an interesting discussion forum that starts with a question from a man who wants to know can he be billed for expenses like Medicaid, his baby momma doesn’t want to work, he has assets, etc.

Marriage, per one legal decision that should be accessible in the search, abates his bill for Medicaid. However, those unwed and not living in the same household with these moms can still be billed for the expense of the state providing her insurance.

It really does depend on what state, and what county within those states, but yes.

Increasingly many OBGYNs will be abandoning that OB part of their practice for a variety of reasons, but largely they are burned out and more likely than any other specialty physician to be sued.

When it comes to bible quote, I prefer the words of Jesus. Paul was an ass. Great at marketing, but he really screwed up Jesus’ message. (see Matthew 25)

As far as if one receives a state supported existence, they are not allowed to procreate, it would be pretty hard to enforce.

“Here is your check. Wait, you got pregnant? No soup for you, or your kids!”

I do agree there should be some sort of accountability. But I think you have taken it too far.

I cringe when I see someone trying to make the teachings of say Jesus and Paul oppose each other to support what they personally choose to believe.

Jesus and Paul were not in opposition to each other.

The number of low-income undocumented immigrants is small relative to the size of the overall low-income population, and federal law restricts their participation in most programs. Because so little federal assistance is available, some states and localities bear a disproportionate burden. As enforcement efforts become more aggressive, it is expected that undocumented immigrants will be less likely to access public programs on behalf of their children who, as citizens, are legally eligible for these benefits.

Unlimited no. But when you have companies with profit margins in the billions paying workers minimum wage, obviously, they can afford to pay their workers more than minimum wage. Unless you think every company needs to keep their profit margins as high as possible all the time, regardless of whose pockets those profits end up in.

Undocumented kids do get some assistance… food, health care, education.

Are you asserting we should not provide these basic things?

We are a nation of immigrants. It is what makes us great.

It would be a good thing for our reps to do their job, and update the immigration processes.

We need them, and they provide way more overall benefits in the long run.

That’s because San Francisco in 2016 passed the local Proposition N, allowing non-citizens to vote in school board elections regardless of their immigration status. The idea received 54-46 percent backing in that city, which in this century has also pioneered concepts like same-sex marriage and universal health care.

Non-citizens will vote legally for the first time in November, and can continue participating in school board elections for at least the next four years.

Looks like this is something that was done often on the past, allowing non-citizens vote in local elections.

As long as it it limited to local school board election, I really do not have a problem with it.
This is one of those small, local government scenarios cons are usually OK with, as long it is some thing they support.
