Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Congress disapproves of the action of the District of Columbia Council described as follows: The Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022 (D.C. Act 24–789), enacted by the Council of the District of Columbia on January 17, 2023, and transmitted to Congress pursuant to section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act on January 27, 2023.
H.J. Resolution 26 passed the House on February 9th by a vote of 250 to 173, with 11 not voting.
The Senate passed it just a few minutes ago overwhelmingly, with the support Senator Schumer.
7:26 p.m. By a vote of 81-14-1, the Senate passed H.J. Res. 26 disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022. Senators voting no: Booker, Cardin, Duckworth, Durbin, Hirono, Markey, Merkley, Murphy, Reed, Sanders, Van Hollen, Warren, Welch and Whitehouse. Senator Warnock voted present.
It now goes to President Biden who has indicated he will sign it into law, thus nullifying the stupidity of the District of Columbia Council.
The dem’s trying to pretend they are pro-law enforcement for the next pres election. We all know they bring chaos to any place they touch…
The left has had the police retrained a million times in my life time and made the police departments more “diverse”. Yet, they will still shout the police need to be trained better after they’ve trained them better over and over for decades… But there is no way to handle people who resist arrest without some force.
