The only way it will is if a power source is discovered that will allow our military to gain a quantum leap in force projection that just happens to be a clean source of renewable energy. Then billions will be channeled into the science so we can stay at the forefront.
Not hardly.
I know.
And developed nations wonât sacrifice their way of life either.
The funny thing is we actually have carbon capture technology and carbon reclamation technology.
But a lot of carbon to reclaimâŚ
Thatâs the spirit!
Steel-W0LF: Jezcoe: Steel-W0LF: Jezcoe: Steel-W0LF:I can not be real, and we shouldnât do anything until the rest of the world is ready to change too.
Then nothing will ever happen.
Good. Why should we cut our own throats if the rest of the world wonât follow suit.
That way⌠we will all go down together.
If the rest of the world isnât on board we all will anywaysâŚ. We will just go down earlier
Thatâs the spirit!
Donât get me wrong. Iâm all for finding better/cleaner ways to do things for the sake of being good stewards of out natural landscapes. That will happen over time because people care about pollution, even on the right.
Iâm just not willing to be the only kid (nation) on the block that wants to hold my breath until I pass out just to cut Co2 output. Co2 isnât like other pollutants, itâs debatable if itâs a pollutant at all.
Personally I think trying to up our food production so that 3rd world countries arenât clear cutting their forests for farmland, even if it means our own co2 output goes up, will do a lot more for the environment than cutting our own throats as some token gesture to âthe planetâ while other nations just watch.
Well good to know that there is nothing that we can do.
Ohh there is tons we can do! The left just doesnât want to piss off the people who own them.
I know.
And developed nations wonât sacrifice their way of life either.

My solution, carbon capture on an industrial scale at whatever price needs to be paid to fix it. Simple. Instead of Branson burning a million carbo tons to try not to puke in space. What a waste of carbon that was.
Right⌠there is nothing that we can do⌠might as well spend time pointing fingers instead of taking action.
So what action against China do you propose?
Guvnah: Borgia_dude:You donât seem to be looking very hard then.
Please, therefore, point to a link that answers the actual question posed earlier:
âWhat level of CO2 reduction is needed to make a significant impact on reversing the effects of climate change; when will we see the results; and what will they be?â
Until you address this, your credibility is lost in the dung heap of disingenuousness.
Fix that, and you can stand out from the rest of the libs in this thread.
Nobody has addressed this question either:
Eagle-Keeper:Hereâs a question. What level of CO2 reduction is needed to make a significant impact on reversing the effects of climate change; when will we see the results; and what will they be?
Hereâs another question ⌠If the US cut itâs CO2 emissions to zero, what impact would it have on reducing global warming?
Axxowiz:And Kerry tells the truth
âNot when almost 90 percent of all of the planetâs global emissions come from outside of US borders. We could go to zero tomorrow and the problem isnât solved,â Kerry concededâ. - Kerry
Itâs a global issue and if people who are really passionate about the issue imho need to get away from Russia, Russia, Russia and start with China, China, China.
They are not just building the coal plants across China but across much of Asia itâs a real problem if ones real goal is to reduce global emissions and not just virtue signal. Go the source.
Chinaâs emissions are driven by our demand.
How so?
Jezcoe:So there is nothing that we can do about it.
Plant more trees.
Do the math âŚ
Nothing to worry about.
If there is nothing you can do to stop it, there is no purpose in worrying about it. If you want to survive, adapt.
conan:Donât buy their products.
I told you libs long time ago, if you really care buy American or friends of America. Government that are representatives.
Do libs have any ideal how they look and sound when they preach about climate change and turn around buy Chinese made â â â â â
Lib this lib thatâŚmeanwhile the states are burning
Should have let them burn for the last hundred years. Then it would not be such a problem now.

This is the second year in a row where the sun looks a weird color because of massive fires burning 3000 miles away.
Itâs a lot more common than âfor the second year in a row.â
GWH:Blame your left leaning brethren for mismanaging forests.
Blame CANADA!!!
I love it!!!
What nonsense. Nobody is blaming Canada. They do not manage forests in the US.
GWH:California, but whatevs.
You mean the forests that are on federal land?
And State. Californian has been managed by libs for decades.
Snow96:Well, considering we have no technology that will stop said meteor hurtling toward earth. Iâd start making peace with my God . . . because well, no way of stopping it. Maybe in a few hundred years we will be able to . . . . So we need people like Musk, Bezons, and Sir Richard to keep coming up with space tech.
Honestly Im in the same boat that there is nothing to stop global warming - or if a meteor was hurtling towards us. But I do believe we should be coming together to develop strategies for some mitigation and definitely a lot of adaptation. Sadly, the ship has sailed for a massive global effort to reduce carbon emissions. I thank denialists for that.
Denialists? By that do you mean China and India?
Well, considering we have no technology that will stop said meteor hurtling toward earth. Iâd start making peace with my God . . . because well, no way of stopping it. Maybe in a few hundred years we will be able to . . . . So we need people like Musk, Bezons, and Sir Richard to keep coming up with space tech.
Shouldnât we be building towns, cities and industries further inland and moving our populations there in preparation for rising sea levels? Shouldnât coastal land prices be plummeting if the land is due to go underwater? Shouldnât global warming believers be divesting themselves of coastal holdings and moving inland? Well, if those invoking panic truly believed it, we would. But no such trends are discernible.

One could even say that Branson is a waste of carbon.

With population growth trees need to come down to build housing and open up more farm land.
