Maybe I’m thinking of Predictably Irrational. Not sure.

Is this the same gut that told Trump to start a mortgage company in 2006?
Yes, but that was a smaller gut.
Yup - Predictably Irrational is really good too - it’s an easier read, too
Misbehaving by Thaler is another favorite of mine (he also won the Nobel), which just has experiment after experiment showing how irrational we are.

I’m willing to give Trump a pass on this one IF he is using his brain as a reference to other people’s brains. If that is his point of reference, I can see how he might be confused on how his gut could be better than other people’s brains…

I haven’t read Misbehaving yet. I have it on hold.
On your recommendation, this book is now on its way to my house courtesy Amazon. Sounds pretty interesting.
It’s a fun read - the history behind the development of the field is great - love how he academically feuds with Modigliani/Miller.
I’m flattered! Let me know what you think. Many applications to money and career management can be drawn from its pages.

Gladwell’s “Blink”, maybe?

That’s it. Blink versus Thinking Fast and Slow.
Thanks. That would’ve bothered me.

Of course he is lying. Donald Trump is a lying liar. Always had been and always will be. I long for the days of someone honest like Barack Obama, leading this nation. I feel horrible for all of the people working for this government, be they military, DOJ, career civil servants, etc., that they have to suffer this moron as their leader.
You’d think that the two viewpoints are opposed but they’re not. Gladwell’s “intuition” is the result of a ton of knowledge and subconscious prep that informs the fast thinking.
Not the same as a gut dictating public policy…
Or add gold sinks to an airline specialzing in shuttle service

Donald Trump’s gut is telling him he’s full of ■■■■■ but as usual, he isn’t listening.

Mark Smith, ladies and gentlemen of the press corps, Madame First Lady, Mr. President, my name is Stephen Colbert and tonight it’s my privilege to celebrate this president. We’re not so different, he and I. We get it. We’re not brainiacs on the nerd patrol. We’re not members of the factinista. We go straight from the gut, right sir? That’s where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up.
I know some of you are going to say “I did look it up, and that’s not true.” That’s ’cause you looked it up in a book. Next time, look it up in your gut. I did. My gut tells me that’s how our nervous system works. Every night on my show, the Colbert Report, I speak straight from the gut, OK? I give people the truth, unfiltered by rational argument. I call it the “No Fact Zone.” Fox News, I hold a copyright on that term.

Some of the oldest creatures in the planet don’t have true brains and only guts…
So in other words I actually have something in common with Trump.
