London Mayor Sadiq Khan unveiled his plan to help stem the prevalence of vehicular terror attacks throughout the UK capital Friday; announcing his proposal to “ban cars” in certain areas to help save pedestrians and bicyclists from future assaults.
According to Politico, Khan wants to “ban cars” from Parliament Square and other tourist hotspots throughout the city. Three people were injured outside Parliament Thursday after a man intentionally drove his vehicle into a group of bicyclists.
“I think there would be lots of challenges if we would do the whole square. It is a thoroughfare for cars, vehicles and commercial deliveries going through London,” Khan told the BBC. “So it’s possible to have a designed solution … in keeping our buildings and people as safe as we can do. And also not losing what is so wonderful about our city that is a vibrant democracy, people can walk around safely.”
Funny thing that, banning people from terrorizing others doesn’t always work. Case in point that innocent girl run down and killed in Charlottetsville.
No doubt the mayor of London is on to something. Lord knows even our Federal buildings here and our military bases have greatly modified what was once fairly free or completely free vehicle access.
We have places here in my town where large numbers of people gather that have vehicle access denied via reinforced bollards, reinforced gigantic planters etc…
No kidding. Not a single European country has seen their quality of life improved through the massive unscreened, importation of Islam. Not a one. People have seen things deteriorate over the past few years. Typically leftist Europe is experiencing a little nudge to the right. And this issue is pushing it. The law of unintended consequences.
That’s the point isn’t it, this is an imported problem. The politicians say after an attack “They will not change our way of life”, but that’s not true is it? Massive government surveillance, structures being put up so bicyclist can’t get ran over. And in Europe hate speech laws, they actually have the police monitoring twitter for offensive tweets.
Everyone wants to deal with the secondary problems and not the primary problem, they have imported a foreign culture who a significant portion does not hold western values.
Imagine if this was a poll on Christians in the U.S. the outrage that would come from the left after chasing bakeries down who don’t want to bake a cake.
And that is one of histories most confusing dichotomy’s. Liberals who claim to support gay rights give Islam a total pass on the issue. They defend Islam whenever possible. Ignoring their zero tolerance for gay rights. Really, really strange stuff.
Nobody in Europe cares about Altair’s perceived religious bigotry or your supercharged judgementalism. I’m guessing that the chaos brought on by mass importation of Islam is of higher concern. Agreed?
Nope. I’m suggesting that they screen people rather than importing thousands who they know nothing about. The current policy has been a debacle. Would you do anything differently?
If Islamists were just intolerant of gays, that would be one thing, but the list of things they don’t tolerate, and call for violence to stop, is a very, very long list.
When the Islamic terrorists run out of gays, Christians and Jews to murder, they concentrate on gender, what women wear, who they walk with on the street, etc…
Even when everyone is subdued and submits to all of the above,and becomes a devote Muslim, they move onto what sect of Islam you belong to, and start murdering Shia Muslims in the streets.
So go ahead, ban cars, knives, guns, it won’t end, that’s the sad, brutal truth.
