A veteran of the Second World War had a unique idea to celebrate his 100th birthday last month; asking for 100 cards on Facebook and social media from around the country.

What he received was more than 100,000 cards, according to the Veterans Affairs North Texas Healthcare System.

“I’m so happy to get all of these cards,” said James South. “I want them up on my walls so I can enjoy them every day.”
