Spend a full day doing Sausalito and Muir Woods. totally worth it.
Nice tour bus ride, don’t try and drive it. Very windy roads and quite dangerous.
A day in wine country is nice but maybe not so great for the kids.
There are tours to Yosemite park which can take a day to do, I would do that instead.
Alcatraz is a must but book very far in advance, months in advance. It’s always sold out.
On the Alcatraz day do Fisherman’s wharf.
There is a restaurant there called “The Stinking Rose” which specializes in garlic dishes that are great but use a LOT of garlic. Fun spot to go to.
Golden Gate park is nice, China Town is a must, take a street car ride at least once and try to take a bus tour of the city to get a gander at Lombard Street. Very interesting street.

Just went there last summer. All this true. The stinking Rose is great. Fischermans warf is a must with kids.
Napa is heaven but yeah not for kids. Though a lot more families there than i expected

Last time I was there I treated myself and a friend to lunch at The Slanted Door. Then hit The Irish Bank and Bourbon and Branch later. A midnight stroll through Tenderloin to the BART and it was a good day. Oh, and went all tourist and rode the cable car. The next day my friend drove me down Lombard in an F-150. Lol. That’s interesting to say the least.
