It’s kind of funny he throws a party in Florida, for only the wealthiest of the wealthy, and then today in DC he announced that in spite of a judicial order, he’s not going to pay out SNAP benefits for the poorest of the poor.

They are blocking the funding of government, and having no effect to achieving their goals (whatever they may be). The only effect they are having is purposely imposing hardship on people that would not have existed. And their trying to use that suffering as leverage.
They are punching down on the most vulnerable without a care in the world as to the ill effects on them. That’s not leadership, it’s not governing, its beyond simple cruelty…it’s villainous.
Because they can work on the issue at hand right now. And have been asking to do so for months. The GOP isn’t interested.
You don’t have to like their strategy. You can even hate it.
But the fact remains, the GOP, as the majority party, has to find a way to navigate the obstacle the minority represents.

You guys really don’t think things through do you? You know very well that opening the government requires 60 Senate votes. With only a majority of 53-47, 7 Democrats would have to vote with Republicans to open the government. So far only 4 Democrats are voting yes, so 3 more Democrat votes are needed right?
Overcome the block you say? Ok, Republicans could vote to do away with the filibuster and open the government with a simple majority. YAY! Obstacle overcome! So I guess the 47 Democrat Senators can just go home for the next year because Republicans won’t need them for literally anything, and if the Democrats don’t take back the Senate next year then they can stay home for the next 3. Do you really think the Republicans won’t completely shut Democrats out of everything if they have to go nuclear with this?
Right now the Democrats have some leverage but they’re just showing what a bunch of amoral scumbags they really are by insisting that negotiations on issues ( which really means total surrender by Republicans) BEFORE the government reopens rather that after ( which is what has been done for every prior shutdown) the government reopens, while Americans are literally starting to go hungry. That really the legacy you want?
How about eat your peas and accept a Trump victory and swallow his agenda for a few years and work to rebuild the damage the left wing idiots that have hijacked your party have done, and then put forth some candidates that actually have ideas that voters want instead of hurting Americans over issues they decided on last November?

50 plus Millions on SNAP benefits exist for that reason in the richest, most powerful country in the World.
They’re the leverage for the Left.
Every single taxpayin working stiff has 50 millions of ‘dependants’ to support.
