The US financial recovery continued to roar to life under the Republican-controlled Congress and President Trump in September, with new data showing a stunningly low percentage of Americans view the booming economy as the nation’s “top problem.”
According to a new survey from Gallup, roughly 12% of Americans cite the US economy as the “most important problem facing the United States,” down from 17% just weeks ago and breaking the previous record of 13% back in 1999.
The economy topped the list in February 2009 at a staggering 86%.
“The low number of mentions of economic issues as the nation’s most important problem mirrors Americans’ generally positive attitudes on other economic indicators,” writes Gallup.
