That was exactly what I said.
Trump was saying that Obama may have gotten into school based on his claiming to be foreign-born, instead of on academics, as foreign-born and minorities get preferential treatment, quite often over Americans.
He didn’t care about his grades. He cared about what criteria Obama applied under - did he just submit his academic scores or did he apply looking for any kind of preferential treatment, as a member of a group?

And AGAIN, he is saying that if he applied with something other than grades as a criteria, he was gaming the system.
He wants to see what he wrote on the application - not high school or prep school grades. He thinks Obama may have pulled a “Liz Warren” and tried to game the system in his favor.

That doesn’t mean it can’t become required. And Trump has made it necessary with all the evidence of his very possible conflicting financial entanglements. So whatever legal requirements there are or aren’t, it needs to be done now and in the future. And thank Trump for making it so.

For the record, Trump’s mom was born in Scotland and not to American Citizens. She wasn’t even naturalized until 1942, 4 years before Donald was born and years after Donald’s older siblings were born. She frequently traveled back home throughout her whole life.
Yes. he did care. He made them an issue. From the link below, in Trump’s own words:
“I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?” Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I’m thinking about it, I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records.”
As long as Mueller and SDNY sees them, that’s fine by me.
