The Governor has no business getting involved in routine program-level discussions 6 levels below her.

It’s like asking Tim Cook to proofread a call center script.

You guys really think that it’s normal for a Governor to be reviewing the real estate appraisal certification process and its requirements…

President Biden should be inspecting monuments for graffiti as well, I suppose…

Just like that, four months later her daughter got a license in an agency that gives out license to whomever is qualified.
Noem should comment on the meeting.
That doesn’t mean a person cant improve their ability to get a license in four months time.

Uh the daughter didn’t take the test again. They just gave it to her four months for the test they said she failed initially.

Did she modify her application during that time? We don’t know.

She wasn’t qualified before the meeting…after the meeting she was. Just a coincidence?

Helicopter parent extraordinaire.

I’m sure it will win her points in an election—NOT.

After the meeting plus four months. Was that meeting supposed to mean that her daughter could never get a license? Would 6 months have been ok? How about 2 years?

It isn’t clear that she was not qualified, or that there was ever a denial of the application:

"Labor Secretary Hultman, in response to questions from the AP, declined to delve into details of Peters’ application or explain the discrepancy between Juelfs’ letter, which said the upgrade had been denied, and department records, which showed a denial was not ultimately issued.
“Kassidy Peters went through the same process as other appraisers. There was no denial,” Hultman said in a statement. “Mrs. Peters completed the requirements to become licensed, and she was subsequently certified in November.”

As daughter sought state license, South Dakota Gov. Noem summoned agency head | MPR News

Pst…

Governor Noem is hardly a boomer:

Nice try, though.

The licensing program Governor Noem’s daughter was pursuing appraiser license through requires applicants’ work meet federal standards.

That’s a bit different than an operator’s license issued by the State of South Dakota.

If KN has strictly local aspirations, it’s the state of South Dakota’s issue to resolve. In national elections, though, some may not be too open to a state official using her influence to get a family member a license she may have gotten denied.

russian disinformation.

At least a gazillion former Intel officials have confirmed this.

Can’t vouch for Conan, but I’m four years older than Kristi Noem, so not a boomer.

I find it interesting she rejects, if nothing else, the mandate to purchase insurance or pay a tax through ACA.

Not sure how she thinks about the requirement to offer parents the option to cover their children until age 26 on it. I’d consider it hypocritical, though, if she didn’t support it.

So, if she didn’t support that provision (maybe she does, I don’t know), but if she didn’t, isn’t it inconsistent she’s playing the helicopter parent to a married 26 year old daughter to get an appraiser’s license?

Or any? She’s 26 & married. Let her try for it herself.

Probably not. I think it was nepotism, and it wasn’t very bright. The media and the Dems have knives out for Noem.

On the other hand, this is pretty small ball.

Seems to me Mom found out what needed to be done and she passed it on. Took the daughter 4 additional months to do it.

No need to pass it on, the daughter was in the meeting as well. Then the agency head got the boot a week later…

I mean its not illegal if you do it out of “Love”

But unlike what you said she wasn’t qualified immediately it took an additional 4 months. Why not right away if you believe it happened that way?
