I wonder what the reaction would be to, say, a former president meeting with an attorney general and suddenly that attorney general deciding not to prosecute the former president’s wife. I suspect some people may have had a different reaction to that, especially if the wife had been present at the meeting.

Sure. Same thing should happen to her that happened with the Clintons and Lynch, don’t you agree?

No. The Clinton/Lynch meeting was inappropriate and shouldn’t have happened. Noem shouldn’t have had a personal hand in oversight of a licensure body under which direct family was seeking to become accredited.

I was not old enough to vote for Slick Willy either time, but I also did not vote for his wife. Corruption like that will only continue as long as people choose to keep supporting the corrupt. People spend a lot of time kvetching about elite privilege, but will continue to support politicians that abuse it because the politicians say things they like, so the privilege/corruption business will continue.

the governor cannot recuse herself from being governor. she is the head of the executive regardless. what was bill? a bystander bag man? the meeting did not take place on some sideshow tarmac staged to look like two ships passing in the night, it was in this governors office. noem’s meeting also had witnesses who can attest to what was said, not a secret conversation we have to trust her for.
