GOP worries fiscal conservatism losing its rallying cry

The culture war stuff is much better for raising money and activating voters and making soundbites on CNN and NYT. Much better to claim institutional racism than campaign on central government controlled lives.

I guess it matters again. Or at least the facade of mattering. If anyone is surprised by this, I’m shocked.

The original premise of the thread is correct and wrong at the same time.

It’s still an issue to many right leaning voters.

It’s no longer an issue because we voters have gotten tired of the “we will just overspend a bit less than the democrats” mentality most of the politicians on the right seem to think is fiscal conservativism.
