The symbolism of the signing last night was rather appropriate then.
One of the commentators pointed said that what Trump was able to get in the deal with China is exactly what Pelosi and Schumer wanted 20 years ago and could never facilitate action.
Through tariffs and friendly persuasion Trump did what they could not.
For this they are exacting political retribution.
It was a good point on one of the FOX opinion shows last evening.
