I typed CNN into Google. The first hit was www.cnn.com. I typed CNN into 4conservative.com. The first hit was a Fox News story about CNN and Anthony Bourdaine. The second hit was a Fox News story about Michael Cohen and CNN. The third hit was a Canada Free Press story about Cohen and CNN. The fourth hit was www.cnn.com.

I find Google searches sometimes frustrating when I’m looking for something of interest from a few years ago. What I frequently find is that my search results are often polluted by more recent events with a decided liberal slant.

I eventually find what I’m looking for by using different search engines and reworking my search criteria, but frustrating none-the-less.

If we are going to have all sorts of investigations on suspicions, then we get some too. Besides, a review of actual results should give an idea as to whether these engines are biased without going into the algorithm. A sort of proof is in the pudding test.

While Google does base its headquarters in California, I don’t think that a political leaning can be determined. I would love to see the algorithm of how search results are ordered (excluding search terms) for more insight, because sometimes during breaking news the mainstream media is up at the top of the search results, along with one conservative news station. For all I know, it could be based solely on popularity or number of hits, but again, I would love to see their algorithm for their search engine.
