The political fallout from the Inspector General’s scathing report continued to rock Washington Thursday, with a reporter from Politico confirming that former bureau boss James Comey used a private gmail account to conduct FBI business.
Congressional reporter Kyle Cheney posted the stunning revelation on social media, writing “IG found that on numerous occasions, COMEY used a personal GMail account to conduct official FBI business, according to source briefed on the report.”
The shocking use of a private email account echoes similar concerns surrounding Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server; raising new questions over how the two leaders handled classified material throughout 2016 and before.
