Not like you or any other lib poster would enter into an honest discussion. You know a REAL exchange of ideas.

This was happening well before Apple.
It’s just that the ubiquitous iPhone really drove the point home.

That’s unfair. Myself and others have been trying to engage in honest discussion this entire thread only to be told that libs aren’t worth the time, or to have posts parsed, and questions unanswered because…libs!
I have common ground with many conservative posters in this thread, but no one wants to take the next step and discuss the real challenges of the next steps.

Why the sudden penchant for derision. You do it too, it’s human nature.

I’m laughing at your tribalness.

What’s the alternative to your criticism then, sideways?

Can’t speak for Jay, but my alternative is, policies that support and grow the middle class, such as those we implemented in the 50’s and 60’s that led to the greatest middle class expansion in global history.
Strengthen unions, minimum wage (back when it had a relative worth…so it should now be linked to inflation), GI bill paying for advanced education, CEO/worker wage rates lower than the stratosphere, pensions and retirement plans, etc…
Not easy of course, but that’s where our policy, IMO should be focused.

Rosy Retrospective of an era you didn’t see in color?
“Policies” didn’t increase the middle class, war did.
Unions have outlived their usefulness. They got their laws to protect the worker and are now simple extortionists…
Minimum wage is a non-issue except for high school kids and drug addicts.
There is a “GI Bill”. Veteran education is not an issue.
CEO wages have no impact on your wages. Worker wages are “in the stratosphere”?
You have retirement plans available.
You listed a series of grievances regurgitated from somewhere. No thought put into it at all.

To the rescue from what? Are you confessing? Are you the spokesman for the gang?
You are captain save-a-con.
I’m not the spokesperson for anyone but myself. I also don’t feel the need to call “bullying!!” On a discussion board about politics.
We are all adults here.

What am I saving them from?
I can see how “adult” some of us are.
She held her own against the 3 of you just fine. More of an observation than a save.
Bullying… tsk, tsk. Must be the mark of organic intellectuals.

No, it’s not.
Maybe you INFERRED it, but that’s part of your dishonest style here.
Go pester someone else.

None of that is what produced that prosperity, that was europe being turned into rubble. And labor makes more now as then did then but can afford more thanks to our reliance on overseas cheap labor for manufacturing.
I couldn’t find a chart going back that far easily but this one going from 1979 to present should give you the idea.
