Giuliani Says Trump Repaid Cohen

Amazing things…amazing

The justifications, deflections, denials, and whataboutisms we’ve seen in this thread from Donald’s disciples suggest we have to, however grudgingly, acknowledge a certain low cunning to how the man operates. If you lie with every breath you can muster, about everything (especially about things you don’t really need to lie about), on a long enough timeline, then it eventually inoculates your followers when you are caught in a significant lie. They either willfully ignore it, angrily deflect to another individual, or acknowledge that they simply don’t care.

Avenatti tells @TheLastWord he hopes Giuliani is not suggesting the Cohen reimbursement took place over several months to avoid $10K+ payments to avoid reporting those payments: “That’s a serious, serious problem. It’s a violation of federal law. It’s a criminal act to do that.”

You got a giant money laundering investigation going involving your personal laywer and your campaign chairman, and your hot-shot lawyer goes on a friendly TV and, apropos nothing, says you’ve been funneling money.

You can’t make this idiocy up.

In positive spin, this is at least one independent contractor we can confirm Trump paid.

Mueller needs to subpoena this orange clown muy pronto.

Watching all of these trump huggers squirm left and right is a thing of beauty.

No.

What Giuliani said was that Cohen was on a retainer and that he was supposed to take care of anything that came up.

This came up and he took care of it, as it was his job.

He was REPAID by and within his retainer over several months. That is what he is supposed to do as the client’s problem-solver.

Giuliani also said that is what he also does for clients - take care of things that come up that the client doesn’t have the time or the inclination to care about.

At no time did Giuliani say the President was deliberately involved or even knew what Cohen was doing for him when he was doing it - just as Cohen has always maintained.

The only new wrinkle here is that it was in fact repaid along with any other expenses that Cohen took care of with regularity by using his retainer fees over many months.

No one is proven to have lied. Fail.

Can someone translate what Guilliani just said here?

“He fired Comey because Comey would not, among other things, say that he wasn’t a target of the investigation,” Giuliani told Sean Hannity on Fox News on Wednesday night.

Lordy, Lordy. Wake me up and say its Sunday.

Sorry to burst your bubble. That’s exactly what Giuliani said but AT NO TIME did he say the President was aware of what Cohen was doing and why, other than generally taking care of problems for him. He just periodically was repaid for everything he paid out for every concern he took care of.

That would make sense, too. Why would he do it for free and with his own cash? He’s a lawyer, after all, and lawyers have never been known to work for free and/or at a loss.

Just another dud with a thud for the left.

IMO, Giuliani is cleaning up. Comey has already stated under oath that he told Trump that he (Trump) was not a target. Trump wanted Comey to tell the truth about that publicly. Comey would not do that. There is the reason for firing him, not to stop an investigation at all.
Some have implied that firing him to stop the investigation might be obstruction. Now argue that telling the truth publicly would be obstruction.
Not saying that I buy Giulianis statement, but disprove it.

It’s pretty clear. Comey knew Trump wasn’t under investigation - told him so a number of times - but refused to let the country know that, casting a shadow over his presidency.

Why not?

It’s clear that Comey WANTED to cast a shadow over his presidency and Trump fired him for what he perceived to be Comey trying to do so, among other things.

But it was among other things. Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions BOTH wanted to fire Comey for the other things.

It’s clear? That’s odd…while that’s your opinion Comey stated why he wouldn’t do that. So…cool try and all…but your opinion is worthless

Dud will be decided by Supreme Court Amigo and dont count on Gorsuch.

Well it was clear to the President and he is the one who gets to hire and fire the head of the FBI. His opinion is not worthless.

And AGAIN his opinion was also shared by Rosenstein and Sessions, and let’s be frank - by MOST of the Dems in the Congress who spoke of him
