Get Older; Get More Conservative

That old established rule that, “As people get older, they tend to get more conservative.” has held strong for many generations.

(Jim Ross voice)

“Good god!!! That’s the Millennials’ music!!!”

Millennials — born between 1981 and 1996 — started out on the same trajectory, but then something changed.

So the most likely explanation is a cohort effect — that millennials have developed different values to previous generations, shaped by experiences unique to them, and they do not feel conservatives share these.

This is borne out by US survey data showing that, having reached political maturity in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, millennials are tacking much further to the left on economics than previous generations did, favouring greater redistribution from rich to poor.

I have a feeling this will be the same with Generation Z as well. Conservatives can no longer sit by and wait for the voters to age into their politics. They might have to … gasp … address the needs and concerns of the younger generations.

Yea give them more so they can sit around and stroke each others feelings

Cool. They’ll vote for people that do.

It’s not surprising for the first American generation that won’t do better than their parents.

I also think the sex/sexuality politics work against conservatives. Drag shows in schools aside, the noobs just aren’t as squeamish as their elders.

I am also sure that such casual contempt :point_up_2: also plays a role.

Look above one of your libs agree.

Yeah. Like that.

I do appreciate how casually you’re accepting the loss of an entire generation of voters.

We saw them growing up.

We knew they were a loss as soon as you guys started giving them participation trophies.

Eh. I don’t think it was the participation trophies that drove them away. But keep thinking that. They’ll come back around … probably … maybe …

Weak men—> hard times—->tough men—->
 you are here. though we are almost here.

What in the world are you even talking about?

I do love this weird, “So what? We don’t need them anyways” attitude. It’s a clear winner.

It’s gonna get a lot worse than it’s gets better. But keep calling them weak or whatever.

Totally. And that’s the way to win 'em over: thinly disguised contempt.

It’s not even thinly disguised.

There’s a few exemptions, but most are worthless.

Cool. Now, make sure to tell them this. Over and over and over again. Maybe even get a podcast.

Have you seen and comedy specials in the last 10 years?

They know.

So when today’s weak men come into hard times, and become strong: what makes you think the resulting good times will be to your liking?

For that matter, what about modern conservatism is so “strong”? All I see is whiny sore losers who are absolutely smitten with conspiracy and ready to sell their souls to the first conman populist willing to punch down.

It may be conservatives are just going to be rejected on their own merits. Or…demerits.

Who said the weak generation becomes strong?
