No see I started this thread with the intention of talking about the BEA report that was released that day on GDP. Like we do every quarter. It wasn’t a trap thread(still don’t see how it was a trap) that I tried to turn into something else when I was caught. I wanted an actual discussion on the topic. I was honest and forthcoming. It’s way better than fake thoughts and prayers.

I get that. But it turned into 500 posts on it. And there is a whole thread specifically for that. I was hoping for more discussion on the actual GDP report.

considering the situation, i would consider -4.8 to be not as bad as it could have been. I expect we may have one more quarter down, but be on the rise toward the middle/end of it

Oh wait! There they are! Must be a lag because of time differences. Imagine that! South Korea has some both yesterday and today, albeit much fewer. Of course it hit there first. Maybe the virus is further down the track?

SK and the USA reported their first cases on exactly the same day.

the influenza virus has a less stable genome, more prone to drift making last years vaccine less effective. covid genome will drift, but much slower. Vaccines should be more effective longer.

Not necessarily.

Virus mutation is not the only reason immunity could be short lived.
