It’s him or Pete Buttigieg.
Newsome should run, just to pull attention from Trump. He will be reminded he cannot run again, and that Newsome is getting all those sweet campaign rally clicks and crowds. Will drive Trump absolutely bonkers, he needs to be at the center of everything.

What rallies/crowds?
He is honestly the only Dem that some but not all GOP voters would consider. He isn’t PC, he is honest and doesn’t tow the DNC line. He calls balls and strikes rather fair. Family man, hard worker, straight shooter. And from Pennsylvania, which is never bad.
That’s a Dem candidate I’m surprised I actually like.
Thought he was going to be a disaster when he first ran for office. Go figure he’s the only sane liberal in DC.

He’s actually got a great family. Ordinary kids. Very lovely wife who dedicates herself to providing help for those who need it. She set up a ton of stores in Pennsylvania where everything is donated and free. Poor people can pick up diapers and formula, healthy food for the table. She wears clothes from Salvation Army and looks good.
We could do worse than Fetterman.
