The choice will need to be made to really enforce immigration process laws so that the situation in CA will have a chance to show some real improvement on homelessness.

The whole market including most parts of the west is due to housing shortage due to covid, eviction bans, and no foreclosures has made the perfect storm of a house shortage not seen before. The evictions will clear some of it as painful as it may few can afford in this environment even the middle class much less the homeless.

A $400,000 home three years ago has become the new $800,000 wages haven’t done anything like that to keep up.

However people are buying those homes at 800k, so there doesn’t seem to be a lack of demand.

Further even at 400k, someone who is homeless can’t afford that.

Yes. California has too much expensive housing and not enough affordable options for our population. Less regulations on new homes is not going to change that in any meaningful way
