Free Speech in Europe

Prosecuting people for speech they disagree with? Wow, no longer a free country, any nation that does this. Finland isn’t the only country in Europe that does not allow freedom of speech. When you prosecute speech crimes, you do not have a free country. Canada too… 1 Corinthians 6:9

There’s not much truly free speech in Europe. The Progs want it that way here as well with themselves the ones choosing what can be said or not of course.

They don’t seem to realize if they limit our freedoms they will not stop there.

Authoritarians are NEVER satisfied with telling just ONE GROUP what to do or not do. They always go on to create ever more restrictions. Eventually they will get around to everyone.

Yeah including the people who supported being authoritarians to start with.

A little study of history along those lines would be helpful to them if they would learn from it.

More likely they would just assume it would be different this time.

Dictators usually start with arms, then religion, movement, & economic restrictions, & just go on from there.

An armed populace that can freely speak their minds & opinions, can live where they like, & work where they like, can not be controlled by authoritarians.

They also don’t realize that the very ones they are “protecting” will eventually be persecuted as much or worse that the beginning targets. Authoritarian regimes eventually go after gays. It happens every time.

Exactly. A dictator might start off controlling conservatives speech but eventually they shut down progs speech as well.

No protests and riots either which would break the progs collective hearts.

Exactly, & usually the most ardent & activist supporters usually end up imprisoned or against a wall. Happens almost every time. The progs think they are just limiting the annoying righties, they don’t see they are eventually taking themselves down.

If saying that something someone is saying is criminal because it offends someone else, isn’t telling someone that what they say is criminal also offensive and therefore equally criminal?

There is no free speech in Europe like there is here.

Never was, never will be.

This is part of the United States exceptionalism.

Ethnic agitation?

Homosexuals are an ethnic group now?

Being interrogated by the police over deeply held religious beliefs that aren’t hurting anyone?

You’ve been to Japan?

So someone who thinks that the Bible teaches the act of homosexuality is a sin is a bully? So she deserves to be imprisoned?. So you all for making her ‘renounce her writings?’ Who is being bullied?

Yes, a person can freely express a religious doctrine and yet, omigod, be a bully doing it.

So let’s see… Libs admit that freedom of speech is limited in the very European Socialist Utopias they admire so much and want to force America to become, but they don’t see a connection between European Socialism and limited free speech? Even as they’ve been working diligently to limit free speech here…
