This should NOT be happening at all.

That’s right. Under California’s plan where the state/counties are leasing rooms for homeless in hotels, they are also delivering Alcohol, and Marijuana FREE to these people.
The city’s department of public health confirmed the report on Twitter this week.
“These harm reduction based practices, which are not unique to San Francisco, and are not paid for with taxpayer money, help guests successfully complete isolation and quarantine and have significant individual and public health benefits in the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Well okay, at least it isn’t taxpayer money going for booze and weed. But it is the Feds paying the majority of the cost of the hotel rooms:
The federal government has agreed to pay 75 percent of costs associated with housing some people experiencing homelessness. The project covers people who test positive or may have been exposed to COVID-19, older homeless people and those with underlying health conditions.
In my book, San Fran officials get told that no booze no marijuana is supplied free to people in rooms paid for by the Federal Government. They want to give them that ■■■■ for free, they can pay for the rooms as well!
(You’ll notice I left off one item, that’s because it is typically given to those trying to kick a habbit.)
And as a side note – if you are a hotel owner and the Cali government comes looking to lease rooms – are you going to do it knowing an addicts (alcohol or marijuana) could be in the room and really NOTHING you can do about it?
