Mass transit doesn’t take you everywhere.

Most of the housing stock in the outer buroughs of NYC are two and three unit buildings with no driveway or parking.

I have this garage

Jeep,Tesla, e46 M3. Off-road, road trips, twistie mountain trails.

I will never not have a manual sports car an a EV.

The problem with Tesla is vehicle trim is falling off, doors don’t remain aligned. They need to do better job. Now they’re doing better job now but still seems to be a problem.

Their build quality leaves a lot to be desired. Their service center quality is also lacking.

I do not envision electric selling well in colder climates either.

I think they have a nice niche for say LA and FL commuters. Even NY and Boston would present a challenge from November through March.

IMO a target of 40-50% passenger EV makes much more sense and appears achievable.

You really need at least 240 for level 2…something like your electric stove/cook top or dryer.

For level 3 charging you need 3 phase power.

You can charge off a normal 120 outlet, but you get like 5 miles an hour. 240v gets me 24mi an hour.

That’s what I’ve been hearing. I noticed a relatively new Tesla with missing trim. I asked the guy what’s up with that and he told me.

Couple months ago I test drive a Tesla with my nephew…fun little car BTW. But I noticed door wasn’t aligned. But again because of my years of being a tradesman I notice ■■■■ like that.

I don’t think we can afford to completely decouple. It works well for EV and batteries because the majority of the market is here in the US, especially for Ford EVs.

Once ford EVs expand into China… you can bet battery manufacturing will shift.

You can’t import that kind of stuff into China you need to build domestic.
America has similar policy but not as strict.
