Democrats are ahead by nearly half a million votes in vote by mail ballots returned to this point and are close to constituting an absolute majority of the vote by mail ballots returned. They have a slim lead in early voting as well.
Vote by mail will clearly end heavily in favor of Democrats. Early voting is not far enough along yet to see, but Republicans are not off to a strong start.
That potentially leaves them in a huge hole on election day.
