“Article I, Section II of the Constitution says that each state shall have at least one U.S. Representative, while the total size of a state’s delegation to the House depends on its population. The number of Representatives also cannot be greater than one for every thirty thousand people.”
As Elon Musk pointed out, House representation is based on the number of persons in a state, and by artificially increasing the populations of Democrat strongholds by attracting, harbouring and protecting illegal immigrants, they intend to increase Democrat representation in the House.
However, city infrastructures are not able to cater to these rapid and massive increases in population, and the attendant crime from the same. I suggest that the Federal government requires all illegal immigrants to register with the Federal government for a Red Card that allows them to attempt to fulfil a 10 year probationary period to prove their commitment to honouring the requirements of the US constitution, by not breaking the law, by learning English, and by understanding the constitution, and by working in legitimate legal jobs to support themselves, after which they can receive a Green Card and begin to the process of gaining naturalisation. I suggest that they be restricted to living and working outside of cities, and outside of states that have a policy and practice of harbouring illegal unregistered immigrants, or who refuse to prosecute illegal immigrants who are registered but are committing crimes. I suggest that any illegal immigrant who is convicted of committing a crime after registration should be immediately deported. I suggest that the individual states work to provide these qualifying illegals with legitimate humane work opportunities, and to police their ongoing compliance to Red Card conditions. I suggest that any illegal immigrant who has committed serious crimes in their home country or has already committed serious crimes in the US, should be ineligible for the Red Card and be immediately deported when identified and taken into custody.
Does this sound humane and feasible. If not, why not? How would you tweak this policy outline to make it better?
This would mean that the illegals presently in the US would not be used to boost Democrat House representation. It would mean that clean-living illegal immigrants who make it through the probationary period would have at least ten years of living by the principles of US Constitution, and reaping the American Dream by doing so, before they become voters, and are likely eventually to vote for representatives that respect and honour the Constitution.
That’s one of the reasons Democrat want open borders, but the ultimate endgame is mass amnesty for EVERYONE in the country illegally. If they accomplish this they exponentially grow the welfare state and create a permanent underclass of people incessantly dependent upon government who then in turn will always vote for the party that offers them more government free stuff.
I agree. But it’s not going to be possible to deport 30 million people in four years. There needs to be a mechanism to immediately weed out the dangerous illegals and to keep the non-threatening illegals off the Democrat teat and to get them acclimatised to the US Constitution, common sense and the American Dream and work ethic, before they are allowed to vote in any elections anywhere.
I would also suggest citizenship by birth in the USA should be immediately recinded legislatively… and retrospectively, if possible.
Not impossible that some adjustment may be made for some people who have been here for a long time, but Democrats need to compromise to,do,that. Trump proposed such a thing in his first term but it was rejected.
Birthright citizenship is not explicitly stated in the Constitution. It has been applied the way it has because it has not been challenged. It came about after the civil war to keep blacks from voting. It was never intended to imply that any human being who inches across our border and pops out a child grants automatic citizenship for the child. It has been deliberately used and abused by Democrats ( like every other thing) to push their agenda. I hope the Trump administration does challenge it to the Supreme Court. Perhaps it would do even more to stop the invasion and destruction of our country.
You put alot of thought into this and for that I thank you.
We as a nation face a conundrum, something the democrats I’m sure anticipated with every illegal they let walk thru the Rio grande into Texas the last 4 years.
On one hand those millions of people should not be here. They are a burden on the taxpayers, our schools, our hospitals…they SHOULD all be sent back where they came from.
On the other hand we are generally a caring people and we don’t like seeing people sick hungry poor and living in the streets or children being turned into sex slaves…
Here’s what’s missing from your thoughtful post.
Border security…establishing a goal of zero illegal crossings. Perhaps a bunch of new arrivals will self deport when they see that they aren’t welcome anymore.
I’m tired of the American people’s kindness and generosity being taken advantage of. Democrats knew exactly what they were doing when the sanctioned the Biden invasion of this country…that they would put us in a no win situation. Before anyone talks about red cards and anything else the border needs to be closed, the flood needs to be stopped, the American people need to be put first, and deportation proceedings need to begin.
You don’t think the population states-wide would pass a constitutional referendum to remove birth citizenship from the constitution? The incoming administration should try it, anyway. I think it would pass.
So what? Twice Schumer offered Trump over $24B to build the wall and both were rejected because the bills included relief to the Dreamers which was killed by Stephen Miller as giving amnesty. Yes, Trump proposed it. And he lied.
They broke the law.
They shouldn’t be rewarded in any way.
Have them leave and come legaly.
My friend was denied a visa to come, she died and Ill never see her again.
She wanted to come legaly.
NO rewards for Illegals.
How many "dreamers’ were covered by Schumer’s proposal. I suspect a lot more that the 1.8 million Trump was suggesting. Ahh. All 11 million. So, Trump didn’t lie, as you claimed.
You seem to know a lot about this for having said you had no memory of it. What Schumer was not willing to do is reduce chain migration of distant relatives in order to legalize DACA. Without that, if the DACA recipients became legalized, they could bring in all their relatives as well.
