Fishing season re-opens

absolutely. if you’re going to investigate leaks you have to look at who was leaked to. follow the law and procedures. which to all accounts, was done.

you’re assertion is false. no emails were siezed. they did get a court order to look at where emails were coming from and going to, it was never executed. the only thing they actually looked at was metadata from phone records.

Oh OK.

But you don’t think that was a fishing expedition? Who did they look at? NYT and WP? And a bunch of dems, their families and kids…

And found nothing.

Not fishing?

how is it fishing when you know where the leak ended up? quite simple, somebody leaked to the times, so you start looking at the times and work backward. standard investigative techniques. all approved with court orders nobody lied to get.

perhaps the phone metadata didn’t give them anything to work with to go forward. i imagine the leakers involved may have been smart enough to use burner phones or otherwise cover their leaking with legitimate contacts
