I will be mailing my ballot back Tuesday. I have enough faith in the Post office that they will get my ballot to Maricopa County Elections Department before Election day. And I am able to track my ballot online.

Votes have to be cast by midnight on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. ( 3 U.S. Code § 1)

That doesn’t mean that ballots can’t be counted after midnight. States don’t complete and certify the counting until weeks later already.

the polls close at 8pm, The post office is NOT a ballot box, they have ZERO responsibility in elections and should have zero. You choose to drop a ballot in a post box instead of a ballot box, then you accept the consequences of your choice.

Except that is not the law in many states.
