Fewer and fewer Americans want anything to do with serving in the military

The government has repeatedly said that freedom is not worth dying for. They shut down churches, schools, businesses; ended freedom of assembly, censored opposing opinions in the name of protecting people from a virus.

Why would anyone want to risk their lives fighting in overseas wars to protect this regime and its puppets?

Well said, very well said.

While I do not agree with you that we are losing freedoms in America, I do think there is far more skepticism of American foreign policy than ever before.

This has been fuelled by our military engagements since the end of WWII. The established propaganda that all governments engage in to get young men and women to fight is no longer effective because of the unprecedented access to information everyone has.

If China landed troops on US soil there is no doubt thousands would join to serve. However if china invades Taiwan (just an example for illustration purposes) very few will sign up even if the mantra was fight china there so we dont fight them here.

That’s cool, China hasn’t the means to land troops on US soil there would be nothing to gain in doing so.

It was for illustration purposes. I could have easily said India/The EU/UK/Thailand.

The feminization of the American male is nearly complete.

Or a recognition that other things also help our country.

Like what?

All sorts of things.

Being a doctor.
Trash collector.
Construction worker.
Truck driver…

All these things keep america going. Helps communities. Helps americans.

Agreed. Which one are you?

So, do you support the Pat Act or not? J6 gulags…

Give me a break, nobody is doing those occupations out of some patriotic notion of serving the country.

Doesn’t matter, those occupations and many others built the country. I’d quote Snake Plisskin but it would violate the terms of service.

And not everyone joins the military out of a sense of patriotism. Some do it because they see it as a way out of a crappy civilian life, others because they will get school paid for. So many different reasons.

Serving in the military does not automatically mean that person is more patriotic than someone who does not.

I would say that depends on the branch.

For example Marines tend to be more patriotic than say Air Force

Like what? Making lots of money and paying a good portion of it to the Government? I already covered that under “selfishness.”

I would argue that few would join the military without some sense of patriotism.

i don’t think making money means your selfish. I think it means you like to eat.

No reason you can’t make money and be patriotic and serve your community country and not be in the military.

Military contractors / mercenaries are a growth industry.
