Non conviction records can be sealed or expunged. I believe juvenile records are automatically sealed.

I personally don’t think one should need to go through the extra step of requesting to seal or expunge if a conviction didn’t happen.

Well I agree…but facts remain it stays on your record. Than you have to hire a lawyer to expunge that history…and in most states it 6 months to a year before that is done.
