Federal Judge Strongly Criticizes Barr's Handling of the Mueller Report

A Republican federal judge suggested Attorney General Barr’s summary of the Mueller Report was “a calculated attempt to influence public discourse about the Mueller report in favor of President Trump despite certain findings in the redacted version of the Mueller report to the contrary” and called Barr’s report on the findings “distorted” and “misleading.”

Judge Reggie W. Walton, who was appointed to the bench by President George W. Bush, was ruling in a FOIA lawsuit and has requested an unredacted copy of the Mueller Report so that he can judge whether the report should be released to the public to correct the impression that the Attorney General created in his summary of the report, his subsequent comments and the redactions DOJ made in support of the Attorney General’s conclusions.

I expect the Trump Administration will fight this as hard as they can.

There is so much talk of the Russia “hoax” around here. Judge Walton’s judgement strongly suggests which foot should be wearing the hoax label here in the matter or Russian assistance to Trump’s 2016 campaign.
