Favorite Christmas Movie

I realize this is very much like the other favorite movie thread but, given the season, I hope it’s acceptable.

Favorite Christmas movies:

It Happened On 5th Avenue
Holiday Affair

Christmas Vacation
Die Hard (I do consider it a Christmas movie because it’s during a Christmas party)

(I know it’s kind of blasphemous, but I’ve never watched It’s a Wonderful Life.)

Whaaaat???

The Wonderful Life thing? I probably should, once at least, before I die. It just doesn’t seem urgent, since it’s always on.

I’ve never seen it, and probably never will. Mine are Christmas Vacation and Elf. Saw Arthur Christmas last night and it was quite cute.

I had to go look Arthur Christmas up - I’d never heard of it.

You guys should watch It’s A Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart is great.

He flew combat missions over Germany during WWII and eventually achieved the rank of general in the Air Force Reserves.

He was the real deal.

I like Jimmy Stewart, and a lot of his movies. The Man Who Knew too Much comes immediately to mind.

Threw it on for my daughter - think I liked it more than she did

Many years ago, the networks were doing movies for TV - they did a pretty good version of Barbara Robinson’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” - Great for kids if it ever comes around. One of our favorites - not a movie, but we watch it every year - is an episode from the Sherlock Holmes series produced by Granada Television in the '80s and '90s - it’s “The Blue Carbuncle” and it’s absolutely delightful.

This is me 100%

Why?

Jimmy Stewart is a terrific actor. I can’t think of a bad performance.

That was the real Kris Kringle.
