Yeah, no room for social distancing in lines, outdoors

Same as with in-person voting.

Actually he said, “If you go and wear a mask, if you observe the physical distancing, and don’t have a crowded situation, there’s no reason why shouldn’t be able to do that.”
A great way to avoid a “crowded situation” would be voting by mail.
yes it is
but he said in effect it isnt necessary
so why introduce the potential for issues if it isnt necessary?
Okay thanks. By the way, no offense taken. Have a nice and safe weekend.

What about voting? So many people are concerned we’re in an election year. Some people are going to be heading to the polls in the next few weeks. Can people safely go out and vote in person, given that this year, there is so much concern around the vote?
Anthony Fauci:
I think if carefully done, according to the guidelines, there’s no reason that I can see why that not be the case. For example, when you look at going to a grocery store now in many regions and counties and cities that are doing it correctly, they have “X”s every six or more feet. And it says, Don’t leave this spot until the person in front of you left their spot. And you can do that, if you go and wear a mask, if you observe the physical distancing, and don’t have a crowded situation, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to do that. I mean, obviously if you’re a person who is compromised physically or otherwise, you don’t want to take the chance. There’s the situation of mail-in voting that has been done for years in many places. So there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to vote in person or otherwise.
Maybe you’ve been fortunate to never have to wait in long polling line, but those things are going to be extra long with social distancing.
Are you against all mail based voting, or just the sort where they send the ballots unrequested to registered and active voters?

thinkingman:
is the percentage 0?
no
then potential is there
What’s acceptable? We can’t have a 100% perfect system

what you posted from that interview (which i already did in op) does not support your position
fauci says he sees no reason why voting cant be done at polls, as long as the precautions are taken.
thats not a reason to add other fraud prone processes to the voting system

Which doesn’t discount the benefits of mail in voting. Why not have both?

Me either. Fauci might not be able to throw a baseball but he’s a scientist and a doctor. He’s been trying to make heads or tails out of this COVID bucket of ■■■■ from the jump. If jagoffs can mob the streets, burn, loot and destroy public property they can wait in line social distance and cast a ballot.
Put on your mask and qwitcherbitchin!
