Not so sure of that. I’ve seen highly successful people come from absolutely horrible parents.

Ultimately I sincerely believe it’s up to each individual to make the right decisions… Better parenting can certainly help but I’ve seen too many people come from horrible situations do very well in life to believe parenting is the biggest factor.

Granted…one answer surely doesn’t fit all but I’m attempting to describe the preponderance of the problem to simplify a situation that can be complicated and have many permutations to it.

A considerable portion of the poverty among blacks is a remnant of pre civil rights and the days when it was made as difficult as possible for blacks to own homes or move up the ladder to good paying jobs, build generational wealth, redlining etc. That was unadulterated racism on the face of it. Removing most of the obstacles to success does not instantly lift millions of blacks out of poverty or fix immediately all of the associated problems caused by first being enslaved for a couple of centuries and then forced to live as veritable untouchables for another century after that.

Poverty contributes to a higher death rate from ALL diseases.

Fauci did not say racism CAUSES the higher death rate, he said it contributes, and he did not indicate HOW MUCH it contributes. He is correct.

And why did Fauci make such an inflammatory, misleading and irresponsible comment? What purpose does it serve other than to stoke the flames of racism?

The fact is, when Fauci, majors in anthropology, then, and only then would his opinions regarding the cultural, social and characteristics of an identifiable race, within a specific geographical setting be of some worth. Unfortunately, our Fifth Column Media and their Yellow Journalists are fawning over Fauci’s claim regarding “institutional racism” causing a higher fatality rate among Blacks ____ a subject matter not within Fauci’s expertise.

What freaken purpose, other than stoking the flames of racism, did his comment serve?

Our country is infested with a Fifth Column movement at MSNBC, NEW YORK TIMES, CNN, WASHINGTON POST, ATLANTIC MAGAZINE, New York Daily News, Time, ETC., and their countless Yellow Journalists, who work hand in hand with the Democrat Party socialist/communist leadership to paralyze and destroy our free market, free enterprise system.
