Far-left lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is doubling-down on her recent attacks against the Department of Homeland Security; saying abolishing the DHS is “really not that radical.”

“It’s really not that radical. When DHS was 1st formed by Bush 17 years ago, many members of Congress were concerned – incl GOP – that we were setting up a ticking time bomb for civil liberties erosion & abuse of power. Discussing reorganization shouldn’t be out of the question,” posted AOC on social media.

Ocasio-Cortez stunned US officials across the country this week; suggesting the United States should “get rid” of the Department of Homeland Security.

The New York lawmaker was speaking during a recent interview when she was asked if the US should “get rid” of the agency; created by President Bush shortly after the 9/11 terror attacks.

“I think so. I think we need to undo a lot of the egregious, umm, a lot of the egregious mistakes that the Bush administration did,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC made national headlines last week when she toured an immigration detention center in El Paso she commonly refers to as a “Concentration Camp.”

“These are concentration camps. According to concentration camp experts, people begin to die due to overcrowding, neglect, and shortage of resources. We saw all three of those signs on our trip yesterday. Another person died yesterday. And those are the deaths we know about,” posted AOC on social media.

US officials and border agents pushed-back against Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’ recent comments regarding immigration detention centers Tuesday; saying the congresswoman is intentionally “misinforming” the American public.

“They are not drinking out of the toilet—no Border Patrol agent is going to make anyone drink out of the toilet,” former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” Tuesday. “It’s just ridiculous on its face.”

“She’s lost all credibility,” he said.
