Yes nyc boroughs are each a separate county with its own separate court.
No but for cause are and in ny state the lawyers conduct voir dire without judges and they can often talk jurors off for cause by asking them targeted questions.
It’s tougher in fed court where the judge controls voir dire

Honestly, I would have fallen apart to go through the attacks he has gone through. I remember after some of the lies were being spread about conspiring with Russia, his haters would claim he stayed shivering in his room staring at tv. Then he would come out and it was obvious he wasn’t affected emotionally at all.

I’m sure he was just going to the airport, or The Porsche Experience from 11 or 12 at night and leaving at 4 or 5 in the morning, and he just happened to text her about 30 mins after he left because it’s normal for him to text people at 5 in the morning.
They were both very stupid people under oath last week.

I think it’s ridiculous to assert that an area that is 90% of a political persuasion isn’t very likely to produce a tainted jury. Donald Trump has been smeared for years and outright slandered by the media constantly since 2015 when he announced he was running for president. Not likely the jury pool has heard anything truthful or decent about Trump from the media. The prosecutors know this and that the defense lawyers couldn’t possibly eliminate enough bias from the jury selection process to gain even a reasonable hope of a fair trial and jury. The DAs who are prosecuting him are avowed Trump haters who targeted him for prosecution, ran on that and then subverted the law to find things to charge him with. They deliberately charged Trump in Democrat strongholds because they know that juries will predetermine Trump’s guilt in the absence of evidence or fair treatment. That Judges like the scum bag Egeron who presided over his kangaroo court like a complete jack ass, are also prone to be avowed Trump haters just demonstrates what a farce this persecution of Trump is. New York, Fulton county Georgia and DC are all the same. Trump has already been declared guilty.
Fani Willis is a disgrace to the legal profession who ought to be disbarred and put in prison for her own crimes and abuse of power. She’s a despicable human being.
Hopefully the “judge” who let her come into his courtroom and treat him like a neutered idiot will do his job. I’m not counting on it though.
In Trump’s favor, these false prosecutions are occurring in States and areas Trump wasn’t going to win anyway, so it’s not going to change his electoral victory. Doubtful Biden will win the popular vote as a result of convictions either, but who knows.
Democrats are pinning all their hopes on putting Trump in prison to keep him out of office.That’s not going to happen. The only purpose these cases against Trump serve is to boost the popularity of the prosecutors into higher office in the districts where the prosecutions are being carried out.
Many Democrat voters now realize too what’s being done to Trump is a disgrace. I’m betting on a national level they don’t like being treated like chumps to boost careers of dirt bag prosecutors and Trump is going to win in a landslide.
