Common sense tells me that if our Government Of, By, and For the people, through the Constitution, our Elected Representatives, and who we hire in Government, makes a decision to allow cable wire and phone wire companies to line our streets with wires, the wire cannot be used to violate our Constitutional Rights!

It is that simple.

I have no problem paying the cable company to get many channels.

I should have the Right to cancel subscriptions to any particular channels I do not agree with politically, or for any reason.

A massive portion of the population is funding very powerful for profit companies to present political views to the entire Nation.

Our First Amendment Rights need to be protected by the Government!

Cable news channels are for profit biased political speech.
We should not be forced to be a customer of these channels for the Right to use the Public Utility.

Cable is a Public Utility, the phone company is a Public Utility.

Cable runs on our poles and only one cable company is assigned to offer cable service to our homes.

The Government must ensure Public Utilities are not violating individual Rights.

We need the Right to cancel any channel off our cable box, and retain the use of the cable service we are getting.

When this case goes to the US Supreme Court, they will rule in my favor.

It is not right we are forced to fund powerful “for profit” companies that work everyday to influence the public with biased political speech we do not agree with and stands against our personal goals and values.

My hope is that within the first month of the law going into affect 60 million US households and businesses will cancel CNN off their cable box, in retaliation for what they did during the Trump campaign, and continue to do to this day!

The new law will produce over time a huge hit to CNN’s revenue stream.

That is the free market.

It is time We The People take our power back.

Powerful political media companies like CNN must not be allowed to have absolute power over us!

The biggest interference in the election came from CNN and MSNBC.

They took advantage of a situation where there is no free market.

If we want cable TV, we must have those channels.
This is a massive Nationwide Constitutional Violation.

It is a violation of the First Amendment for the Government to tell me I have to cancel the use of a Public Utility in order to cancel my support of a political party.

The First Amendment of the US Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

A) Cable is a Public Utility

1} Cable wires run our poles and our land in towns, cities, counties, States, and Federal Government.

  1. Provides access to the public service to everyone in an area.

  2. Laws allow Cable companies to run their lines to our homes.

  3. Only one Cable company allowed in any area.

  4. Many homes can only get Cable, no Fios or Dish allowed.

  5. Many homes cannot get reception with antenna.

  6. Technology is available to program home cable box remotely and automatically through computer instantly.

  7. Blocking any box from receiving any channel is easy.

  10. Wikileaks showed CNN and MSNBC working in conjunction with a Political campaign.

  11. Individual subscribers to the Public Utility Cable are paying “for profit” Cable News Channels through their cable bill.

  12. Individuals are enabling and supporting the Cable News Channels’ 24/7 Partisan Political Speech that may be against the individual’s beliefs and vote in order to have use of the Public Utility Cable. This is Unconstitutional.

Freedom of Speech demands that if an individual does not agree with nor wants to support a FOR PROFIT company’s Nationwide political speech, because the individual believes that speech is against their welfare, they should not have to pay for and accept delivery of the speech in order to use Public Utility Cable.

A lot of people recognize their Rights are being violated.

Just like insurance companies are not allowed to force coverage against religious beliefs in order to sell a set of coverage, cable companies must not force support of a political party to have use of cable.

Having a cable news channel in your package is support of the channel.

It is unrealistic and Unconstitutional to force American households to cancel their TV service in order to stop being customers of CNN and MSNBC.

We must go to court and demand our First Amendment Rights be upheld.

The Government must ensure cable and phone wires are not being used to violate individual Rights.

What can we do?

1- File a lawsuit in US District court against the Federal Government, the FCC, the Board of Public Utilities, and the Town you live in.

2- Get 100,000 electronic signatures on the Whitehouse.gov petition page within 30 days of it being submitted on their site, in order to have the President answer.

3- Convince the President or people who work for him to get the ball rolling on protecting our Rights in this matter.

4- Convince powerful people in the private sector to take up the cause.

5 - Convince our Congressmen and US Senators to pass legislation to protect our First Amendment Rights in this matter.

When they partner with the government, as cable companies do in nearly every town in america, then our first amendment rights must be protected.

but the cable company shouldn’t force me to buy it, simply becuase it is a partnership with the government of the town, overseen by he board of public uutilities and the fcc, and is highly regulated,. not on private property, but public property

i love the cable company, i love cable tv,…
i love most all the 150 or so channels i get.
BUT I, ME , YOU, ALL OF US, SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION TO ANY CHANNEL.
I FEEL DEEPLY , VERY DEEPLY THAT HAS TO BE OUR RIGHT.

Bro, they were required to provide insurance as regulated by the ACA. That’s why it became an issue before the court and whether the RFRA applies to them as a corporation.

You are not required by law to buy a cable prescription.

Here is the fix:

1- Customers can cancel subscriptions to any channel in any package they buy.

2- The cable company can charge a channel cancellation fee for every Basic package channel canceled.

3- The cable bill will not be affected.

4- No replacement channel will be offered.

5- After a customer cancels a channel from their package, that channel cannot be restored for 90 days.
