Problem is all too many of kids today are just waiting for their parents to die off to gain their wealth…or what they think is rightly theirs.

Median net worth of people over 65 is ~$300k, and median inheritance is a paltry $65k.

Millennials are going to be sorely disappointed if they’re depending on dead parents to provide much of anything.

The thing that kills me is they see how their parents live at the maturing of the lives. The nice house, cars, travel, supervisor job.

They never think about what it took to get there. The lean years, the jobs on the shop floor.

They come out of college with a crap degree expecting $100k and a corner office.

Go sweep the shop floor, wash out some cotton diapers, wire a muffler back on.

EARN IT!

The vast majority of people living in poverty are young, know why?

You’re supposed to be poor when you’re young.

Not even close to being true.

 of course it is.

No that last sentence is your rules, not theirs.

 It’s life’s rule. You’re just starting out.

You don’t get to start at the end. Or even the middle.

Theirs who?

No it’s an artificial rule.

There’s no reason you have to start out poor.

Of course there is, you haven’t earned yet.

No…there’s not.

You can earn right from the start, by being intelligent about it.

Many of these folks do…it’s a myth they’re lazy and entitled.

They simply play by different rules from you.

If this forum is any indication it’s true.

Now having said that yes some have worked their butts off, paid their way through college themselves…and then worked their way up through the system gain real world experience in their trade.

But most…they expect their entitled.

Funny thing is…those that worked hard now see their are those that are coming for their wealth.

It’s an old fashioned rule that you have to “work your butt off” (i.e. suffer) while you earn.

How?

Not of all them of course, just the ones who whine about “rentiers”.

What rule allows them to start in the middle or end?

Suffer? What rule is it that you don’t have to start at the beginning?

Mu.

Unmask your questions and ask better ones.

It’s not whining about Rentiers.

It’s pointing out they exist and they aren’t earners…they’re parasites that suck wealth out of the system, not add to it.

I know one has it all planed out what he’s going to do with his parent riches.

Ha - what a ghoul - may his parents live to be 115, assets appreciating into 8 figures, as he waits for them to pass.

The only thing that “it is” is you reading into what I wrote with your own assumptions.

I understand.

It is whining. That you don’t have something because somebody else didn’t give it to you.
