Not really. There was a time, a time when liberalism was an honorable label, when it represented the exact opposite. Things changed when the progressives infiltrated and took over liberalism.

And? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You honestly don’t believe being born rich is a leg up to financial stability and security?

Seriously?

That isn’t what we are talking about. We (or at least I) are taking about the individual ability to improve one’s lot in life if they chose to change their status.

Go back and read the post.

That was precisely what the post was talking about.

If you say so …

Was FDR or JFK Liberals?

FDR was as close to a dictator as this country has ever had. Good wartime president, though. And parts of the New Deal were needed, but the way they went about it was flawed and it was biased against black people.

JFK policies were all over the political map. Can’t really call him liberal, progressive, new age conservative, or libertarian.

Interesting take…
FDR, to get the new deal to pass, he had to get Dixiecrats on board. To do that, the black population did get screwed. They also got screwed with the GI bill as well.
That, and the Japanese internment issue is a black stain on his record.

Other than trying to pack the courts, FDR was not a dictator. He kept getting re-elected, because people liked what he was doing. All of the new deal items were passed democratically. Of course, the democrats had a large majority in congress.

JFK, was a liberal. But he was also a mess personally. Who knows how his legacy would have been, if he were not assassinated.

No.

Yes…

Big government progs. Collectivists. Statists.

Blah, blah, blah…

SOS.

Fact.

Teddy Roosevelt (R) was the first progressive to sit in the Oval Office. Liberal Democrats saw that and took it from there.

It could be argued, Lincoln was the 1st progressive POTUS.

Not a fan of TR?

Yes, that argument can be made about Lincoln, but I give him a pass because he was engaged in a war for the survival of the Republic. It’s doubtful he would have employed progressive actions had his tenure been routine.

No, not a big fan of TR’s Presidency.

Make it.

With you?

You don’t speak or understand the language.
